Memory Jammer  (M.J.1.7)
PRODUCT

Without going into any detail, MEMORYJAMMER is a database with a self-test function so that you can test yourself on your knowledge. It is easy to use and is pretty self explanatory really. The are orange question marks throughout the program to guide you in its use.

When MemoryJammer starts up, you will see a list of your last selected data. The blue background indicates you are in card manager mode. The tabs in this mode relate to all your data cards.

Once you have entered in all the data you want to for the day, revise it. Press the CARD MANAGER button, then select the RANGE/TESTS tab.

To check todays inputs, press TODAY, if you want to randomize the order, press RANDOM, then press MANUAL REVIEW / QUIZ to start a test on it. If you just want to see a list of your selected range, press the DATA LIST tab. Of course, you can also select the range of your tests base on the scores you have of a specific card to date (e.g <50%), if you have not been tested on a certain card for more than X days, if you have been tested on a certain card less than X times, or if the last answer for a certain card was wrong (if you keep selecting this, you will be questioned on your cards until you have got correct answers at least  one time for all the cards.).

The latest version of MemoryJammer allows you to add multiple set names to each card. For example, you might add astronomy, our solar system, moons to this card. Or, you can use this function as an index system. In the case of a card on the X-ray of a pneumonia patient, you could create X-RAY, and PNEUMONIA card set names. That way, when you look up X-RAY, any images you have tagged with X-RAY will come up. The same is true for PNEUMONIA. There are various other different ways you can also make use of this system.

This version of Memory Jammer allows you to place a chunk of text in the left window, then you can drag portions of the text to the right top (topic) and right bottom (summary) windows. Doing this allows you to make a multiple of cards in a short time.

Now you can make a mnemonic database. Create images that are linked to keywords in your mind. When remembering thinks, use these mind links to create images in your mind. A simple example might be  100=OLD MAN WALKING WITH CANE, 20 = BINOCULARS(=20-20 vision), SATURN = hula hoop dancer. Saturn's diameter is 120,000km could be remembered as an OLD MAN WITH BINOCULARS  LOOKING AT HULA HOOP DANCER. To use this method, you need to make sure you have a record of the MIND LINKS. "100=OLD MAN WALKING WITH CANE" is placed in the MIND-LINK database, whereas, OLD MAN WITH BINOCULARS  LOOKING AT HULA HOOP DANCER is placed in the mnemonic field of the corresponding DATA CARD.

You can also use the test function to test your knowledge. When you have finished your test you can see the results. Change the date to see results for past dates.

The latest version of Memory Jammer has a function to allow you to remember numbers easily. For details see the pink guide boxes in the application marked with ?. You might be surprised how effective this is. It makes remembering numbers fun too.

To enter a new card, press NEW. You can either enter the data in the OVERVIEW tab or separately in the TOPIC, SUMMARY, IMAGE, ATTACHMENT tabs. Data types can be DATABASE or MULTICHOICE. In the case of MULTICHOICE, select your answer(s) from A to H.
Multiple selections are possible.

You can also set the range for tests using the CARD SET.

The above screen shows the mind link page. Create your own mind links, or have one automatically created. Also use the NUMBER to IMAGE generator to create images that will allow you to remember numbers.

To input an image, press NEW and set the path to the image. Storing the image in the database will slow it down if you get thousands of images. It is recommended you store only a link to the file. This will keep things speedy. It is probably better to save the images inside an IMAGE folder in the root directory of MemoryJammer. This will also mean that if you copy the whole MemoryJammer folder, you will also get the image (attachment)  files.

Use the review page to review selected input.

Test yourself on the information in your database, then review your results.

Find out which questions you always get wrong, and use the range selector menu to test yourself on only those questions.

These are only some of the functions, and I think it is hard to get a grasp of the software without actually using it. Give it a go for free, and see how useful it is. Let us know if you have any ideas for improvements.
